Building Information Modelling

Modelling

We have advanced experience in developing full parametric and 3 dimensional virtual building solutions. Building Information Modelling encompasses building geometry, spatial relationships, geographic information, quantities and properties of all building components.

BIM is a procedure marked as advantageous and cost effective at earlier stage designs; ideal for submissions such as planning applications, building packages, schedules and pre-tender packages. By using BIM, we minimise the risks of early design discrepancies by coordinating all identifiable and quantifiable building elements into one computerised virtual model. BIM modelling can be used to demonstrate the entire building life cycle including the process of construction and the cost management of a given proposal. BIM also highlights potential Health & Safety hazards and identify costly budget mismanagement related issues.

Environmental Analysis

Growing concerns about the impact of the construction industry on the environment has in recent years constrained the Building Regulations and intensified environmental policies related to the built environment. BIM environmental analysis can demonstrate the operability of a proposal and its environmentally friendly features and credentials.

BIM methodology is suitable for green studies because it correlates the energetic parameters of your design. We use a set of tools to calculate the thermal, mechanical, and sonar performance of your building. These tools can be used against a set of localised Building Regulations and guidelines (BREEAM, LEED) and determine the environmental performance (rating) of your design. The aim achievable is to produce a robust report and give a final verdict on the overall performance of your building, leading then to recommendations on ways to improve its energy efficiency.
